Driver Monitoring System

"This is technology under development to support driving safety by applying a "driver monitor system", which observes the state of the driver by detecting the face direction and opening and closing of eyelids. When a driver becomes unconscious and is deemed incapable of driving, the vehicle switches to automatic operation mode and evacuates to the road shoulder via rear wheel steering, using an "active rear steering system."

"Automatically parks the vehicle autonomously, operated by smartphone. With compact stereo cameras mounted on the front, rear, right and left of a vehicle, this system detects compartment lines on the road surface and obstacles and automatically sets the target parking position by sending instructions through Wi-Fi, etc. from a smartphone and automatically steering and parking in the target position. It helps users when parking to confined spaces, difficult to access and exit from as well as providing parking support for less proficient drivers."
