Virtual Company System
Perusing the Aisin Group's history shows implementation of subdivision in order to demonstrate high technological strength in the automotive industry, with each individual company existing as a professional group possessing specialized knowledge.
It is true, however, that the burgeoning of the individual companies and the diversification of lines of business has resulted in reduced cohesiveness of the Group.
In overcoming the wave of never-before-experienced structural changes impinging upon the automotive industry, further evolution cannot be achieved by business as usual.
Accordingly, with the goal of accelerating development of the focused development field, in the autumn of 2016 we established six development working groups in the three areas of Zero Emissions, Automated Driving, and Connected Cars, and have been advancing action.
Then in April 2017 we initiated a Virtual Company (VC) System as a new Group collaboration system capable of demonstrating comprehensive strengths along an axis of operations that transcends corporate boundaries, and have been transforming how we work in order to strengthen our competitiveness.
What Is a Virtual Company (VC)?
The five operational virtual companies of Powertrain, Chassis & Vehicle Safety System, Body, ICT & Electronics, and Aftermarket and Group Head Office were structured, and each is transforming its work from the four standpoints of Unified direction, Efficiency, Creation of new value, and Sophistication while respecting the strengths and Specialist skills, in an effort to raise our competitiveness.
- ※1 Business VC System: an organization transcending company boundaries that formulates and executes business strategies.
- ※2 Group Head Office: an organization that integrates the shared functions of respective Group companies and advances improvements in the efficiency and setup of business performance.
